A spell of great spring weather encouraged me to get out on the bike for the first serious ride of the year. I put the mountain bike in the back of the car, and drove over to Whitehill Car Park (NT) near Mickleham. It's quite a small and popular car park, I just got the last space.
I cycled out along the NCN22 to Epsom Race Course, followed the inside rail of the race course to Langley Vale Road, then back via Stane Street (old Roman Road). All the tracks were in good condition. Stane Street is quite rough in places, and some downhills needing care. Great views over London from Epsom Race Course. Carpets of bluebells just appearing: quite early, must be a sign of the mild winter.
