Having lived in the area for years, I have frequently driven past the entrance to Bocketts Farm off the A246 near Leatherhead, but I have never visited it. Some research on the internet showed that the Farm is adjacent to Norbury Park, which has a 'family cycle trail'. Today, I gave this a whirl: route here:
There is a large car park from which to start the ride. It's a very enjoyable circuit, easily accomplished in an hour, surprisingly rural. There are three good viewpoints: one (from a loop through woodland opposite the Norbury Wood Products sawmill) across to Fetcham, a second (shortly after passing the sawmill) eastwards over the Mole Valley to Mickleham and the western slopes of Box Hill, and a third from Crabtree Lane over to Ranmore Common. Tracks are a mix of tarmac, stone and earth/mud. I diverted to the tea barn at Bocketts Farm on the way back.
