Today, a friend of mine who lives in the vicinity gave me a guided circular tour of this area of West London. It was a really neat route, largely traffic free, and full of interest, here's a map:
Starting from Kingston Bridge we covered Bushy Park, the River Crane, Twickenham Rugby Stadium, Mogden Sewage Works (one of the largest in the UK), Osterley Park, the Grand Union Canal and Thameside paths from Brentford back to Kingston. It was a rather gloomy day, but at least it didn't rain, and we did not lack for refreshment (coffee at Osterley Park, lunch in the Fox Pub just off the Grand Union at Hanwell, and tea/cake at the Stables cafe at Orleans Park). 21 miles in all.
