Today whilst cycling back from West to East Guildford, I tried out the recently resurfaced towpath beside the River Wey, from B&Q at Ladymead to the A320 bridge. The surface used to be very sandy, making for a difficult ride. The new surface is compacted grit, a great improvement and a useful addition to Guildford's cycle network (so long as it is properly maintained).
