I did a short ride from Ripley (plenty of parking beside the village green) to one of the remnants of the Brooklands racetrack banking, map here. As part of the route, it would be nice to cycle over Wisley airfield, but the exit onto Elm Lane has now been impeded by a dirty great concrete block, over which it is difficult to manhandle your bike. Anyway, I show instead the cycle path beside the A3. Otherwise, the ride comprises Wisley Common, two crossings of the M25, and the towpaths of both the River Wey and the Wey Navigation, plus the mean streets of Byfleet.
