Previous day
Next day
Weather: Fine all day
Stats: 59.4 miles (inc maybe 2 miles exploring Edinburgh Old and New Towns); ave speed moving 10.3 mph
Counties: Scottish Borders, Midlothian, City of Edinburgh, Fife, Perthshire and Kinrosshire
GPS track map: Link here
Back in the saddle again after our day of rest, it took some effort to get those weary legs turning the pedals again. The A703 out of Peebles, the roads approaching Edinburgh, and the B roads from Inverkeithing to Kinross were busy and not particularly inspiring. But they were interleaved with some great highlights: minor road and quiet B6372 giving excellent views of the whole range of the Pentland Hills; traversing Edinburgh at Festival time; and crossing the Forth Road Bridge (another bridge to add to our collection from the Bristol ride, ie the Old Severn Bridge and the Clifton Suspension Bridge).
